moving on

picc line out...what joy - a free arm and no flapping pipes to hide under sleeves! Final bone marrow on Wednesday... and then onto monthly appointments for blood tests. Luigi and I did the Havelock Walk Open Studio this weekend just gone. God it was freezing, but managed to hug a radiator most of the day. It was good to do something normal for a change. Am exhausted now though! Frozen shoulder is hideous and really dibilitating. I am so hacked off that I am unable to drive or even do a shoe lace up.
Seems I cannot see orthopaedic consultant till January...so will have to chase the hospital yet again to see if the date can be brought forward. Meantime I will trust in the Bowen technique - have got another session this week. Waiting for snow.

  1. Hi Tess. MMMMM Snow. Thing about Australia is not much snow but gets cold. If it is going to be cold, it might as well snow so we get something beautiful for it, though I've heard snow stops being beautiful and just gets annoying after a while. Anyway sounds like things are beginning to look up a little. Being able to do shoe laces and the little automatic things we take for granted are so important to overall well being. Hope you get some improved mobility soon. Bowen is good, it worked for me once.

  2. Hi T

Normality looms at last - all sounds like good news (apart from the shoulder of course) - sorry I didn't make it to the open studios, hope you sold a few things. Still frantically making books to sell on Sunday but nothing seems to be going quite right. The heating broke on Tuesday but was fixed today, nice to be warm again. I expect you have a lot of snow - 10 inches here, crazy when central london has virtually nothing! Anyway, hope to see you soon and love to you both.

  3. Although the snow was pretty, thankfully it seems to have melted. London can't cope with snow. Trains were hopeless but the buses did OK. I got to get out at Herne Hill and there was this really interesting shop selling African gear – I'll have to pop in and have a proper look. I could imaging it as the setting of a Roald Dahl 'Tales of the Unexpected'. There are PG shows on at college at the moment. I've succumbed to the annual cold and am laying low for the moment. I'm hoping to be out of the QA role soon and back to teaching and running courses. Here's wishing you the swiftest of recoveries and hopefully you're looking forward to some xmas frivolities.

  4. Well you asked for snow and we got it! But getting the slow bus to the elephant is no joy. Last week of term and the joy is mounting, well after a marathon of assessing and packing. I'm moving this Friday and yes the boat sale is also happening! What have i done as the dock freezes. Slightly stressful.
So glad you are getting back on top and having an open studio i expect was great. Sorry i missed it.
    Big warm hugs
    Jackx
