message from forest hill
Still at home! have managed 9 days so far - but today my neutrophils have finally dropped to 0.0 - so the long haul up starts from today. Day unit every other day for blood tests and check up. Monday had a double blood transfusion and platelets transfusion. Today an abdominal xray...god, always something!. The days in the day unit are long - get there for 10am and get to leave about 6pm. Exhausting. Am hoping I can keep myself infection free - but the world seems alive with coughs and colds and various nasties, so navigating a healthy path through all that lot with a zero immune system ain't going to be easy...Cold tonight so central heating up, and as I don't subscribe to Sky Sports, I will have to be wonderfully old fashioned and listen to the Manchester Derby on the radio (transistor even!)...moving on slowly. ciao tutti.

Maybe you should wear a scarf around your face like a cowboy/girl or a highway robber type figure...? There are so many sneezers sniffers and coughers out there...Keep up the good work xx
ReplyDeleteSo glad you've managed to stay home so far at least! Keep it up Tessa.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful week here. A respite before the cold winds really start to blow. Blue skies and warming every day until Sunday. I'm trying to soak it up so that I'll have mental reserves of sun and warmth to get me through.
A bit of news to give you a laugh - I am performing Zumba with some of my friends at the big Cavs Basketball game on Saturday. We're the halftime entertainment down on the court. That's the only reason I'm doing it - very random bragging rights! You can picture my shaking my booty in black leggings and a bright pink racerback tank. And then laugh. If there's a youtube video after I'll send you a link. Laughter is good for the body and soul right?
Much love and positive thoughts to you!

Have been wondering how you are and was starting to get a bit concerned not to have heard anything for a while.
ReplyDelete9 days straight is brilliant, I have everything crossed that it continues uninterrupted.
You could always get a ninja-clava to keep out the germs - it will also double up to keep your head warm too!!
Much love and a big hug W xx
Ciao Tessa , In Tokyo people have no qualms about donning those attractive white surgical face masks to avoid spreading & contracting germs, perhaps it's time to pioneer the trend here. It must be exhausting and germ risky travelling to and fro to the day unit you poor darling. At least you get some time at home & your own bed with only Luigi and Lili's noises to disturb your rest. My cold much better now so hope I will get to see you when your'e ready. Georgia is off to Avila near Madrid on her Spanish exchange on Thursday. JM&G have gone to see the Turner Prize I am back from yoga and heading out to the workshop on this wet and chilly day listening to the radio always wondering how you are. Keep positive you are winning.

Our office is in Eastwood which is a Chinese and Korean area and there are many masked citizens wandering the streets, particulaly after flu scares.
ReplyDeleteKeep the spirits up.
