home and back again
Hallo All, my apologies for being so slack and not updating blog for a long while…I got home last Tuesday 21st, feeling pretty fragile and weak. This last ride with chemo was really nasty, and took it out of me big time. Never mind, was fed homemade Italian soup (pasta e fagolli) and looked after with great care and attention by Luigi. Made a couple of trips to the day unit last week –and then in bed from Friday feeling a bit grim, temperature up and bouncing around the mid to high 37’s. mouth full of thrush and lost all desire to eat or drink. Visit to day unit yesterday for usual blood taking and they decided to admit me again. So here I am back in a single room (neutropenic – everything at 0.0 – which is probably why I was feeling rough at the weekend) being fed a range of antibiotics and pawed over by various doctors… I have a variety of odd symptoms including top half of my face covered in a constellation of red spots, a possible chest infection and subcutaneous (I think) bleeding in my legs – which basically is unexplained bruising…enough already! Carphone Warehouse have managed to be supremely inefficient and I am still without a phone – ordered a pay as you go, online – which did arrive within 24 hours of the order, but they seem to have a big problem with sending sim card – so new phone is useless…god how did we manage without them! Hope not to be in here for too long. A presto tutti. ciao ciao

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you are back in your 'cell' again but at least it better than the noisy ward.
Hope the all important counts start to increase again very soon. Sounds like you really are having it tough this time.

Any help with the phone let me know, also let me know if you want a visit?
ReplyDeleteLots of love David
I was hoping your silence was due to sleeping and being with Luigi, you poor darling what a testing time this is and so unfair. I am willing those nueotrophils to do their stuff and get you home again.
ReplyDeleteJulian on his way home from New York - they didn't win (he was nominated for an Emmy) but he seems happy enough with his goody bag and hangoverI think he has had a ball, I will see him tomorrow. I saw Veronica today she was going for a swim in the Swanky refurbished East Dulwich baths she asked after you and sends her love. As do we.
A presto
Luisa & famiglia
Well, I was wondering what it meant that you hadn't been heard from in a while. Like others I had hoped it was due to better days and not much to report. So sorry that the opposite turned out to be true! All the best in coming back from this round. I guess it will take a little longer than the others, but it was the last one, right? I suppose there's some consolation in that.
ReplyDeleteMuch love from Ohio. Will write about the Home and Garden tour at some point. The main thing is that the house was well received by a majority of the punters, which was gratifying. Made the hard work seem worth it!

Hi T,
ReplyDeleteyou should be here with me not in hospital because today the studio is open until 8pm...it's twilight zone just for foundation students.
You cannot believe how quiet is here without you around!
Looking forward for the next blog where you tell all of us that you are at home!

Hi Tessa
ReplyDeleteBinky, Simmsey and I went to the best Indian in town - 'simply indian' near Binky's place last night. As we were walking down on estreet we looked up and saw your room in hosipital, se we thought about the last time we were there with Mike and you. Earlier in the week we went to the Bishop and i had the most cosmic maccaroni cheeze with cauliflower and crispy bacon on top. I bought a bottle of fizz to boost morale. Now I'm debating whether to go to see Duanne Eddy at the South Bank this weekend.
